75-year-old grandma takes an axe to floodwater to save her greenhouse
In Hatay's Yayladağı, Güllü Karahanlı, 75, crawled through floodwater with an axe to clear debris and save her home and greenhouse. Cameras caught it.

After an orange-level warning from Turkey's State Meteorological Service, heavy rain flooded the Bezgede neighbourhood in Yayladağı, in Hatay province, on Wednesday. Cameras caught Güllü Karahanlı, 75, fighting the water with an axe in her hand.
She was trying to protect her home and her greenhouse. Karahanlı says the street in front of her house floods every year when the rain is strong. When debris blocks the water's path, she opens it up herself.
She struggles to stand, so she crawled to clear the junk. A child nearby warned her, "Auntie, the flood will carry you away." She answered that it was a disaster sent by God and that she could handle it. When he told her she wouldn't make it through, she kept at it a bit longer.
Then she grabbed onto some poles and made her way back with difficulty. One of her shoes was swept away by the water.
