Man stops by Polish police station for a breath test, runs into a shoe theft report
A 24-year-old in Ełk dropped by the police station to use the public breathalyser. A shop worker arrived at the same moment to report stolen shoes.

Sometimes timing is everything. In Ełk, a town in north-eastern Poland, a 24-year-old man walked into the local police station to check his sobriety on the public breathalyser that anyone can use.
At that very moment, a shop employee arrived at the same station. She wanted to report the theft of a pair of shoes worth 449 zloty.
According to the report, the shoes were taken by the very man who had come in for a breath test. So his quick visit to the station turned into something far less routine than a reading on a device.
It is the kind of coincidence that sounds made up. Yet it happened in the one place where the shop worker and the man she was looking for could hardly have missed each other: a police station.
