Samsung Lions manager Park Jin-man has made a bold call: a 19-year-old rookie will start Game 4 of the Korean Series.

The pick is Jang Chan-hee. He will take the mound on Nov. 7 at Samsung Lions Park in Daegu against the KT Wiz, in the 2026 Shinhan SOL KBO Korean Series (the league's best-of-seven championship, first to four wins).

Who gets left out?

The surprise is who isn't starting. Choi Won-tae, the free agent pitcher signed for a reported 7 billion won, has been dropped from the Game 4 start. Instead, Park trusts a teenager with one of the biggest games of the year.

How did Samsung get here?

The Lions lost Game 1, then won Games 2 and 3. On Nov. 6 they beat KT 5-1 and now lead the series 2-1. One more win would put them in a commanding spot.

For a rookie, that is a lot of pressure. Daegu will be watching closely.
