Bruno Genesio equals a Guy Roux record and makes French football history

Bruno Genesio has just joined a very exclusive club. After his latest Europa League match, the coach has equalled a record held by Guy Roux, and it writes his name into the history of French football.

Guy Roux is one of the best-known names in French coaching, so sharing a record with him is no small thing. The finer details of the milestone were not spelled out in the first reports, but the headline is clear: Genesio now stands level with him.

If you have lost track of the story, Lille appointed Genesio as head coach in June 2025. Since then, his team has been making headlines on the European stage, and this new mark is another sign of how far the journey has come.

The next question is obvious: can he go one better and set a record of his own? French football fans will be watching closely.
