Samyang's Buldak noodles power record profit, with 3 trillion won in sight
Samyang Foods posted record third-quarter revenue of 791.8 billion won as Buldak sales in the US and China pushed operating profit up almost 50 percent.

Your instant-noodle shelf may be spicier than ever, and Samyang Foods is cashing in. The South Korean company just posted its best quarter on record, thanks to its fiery Buldak ramen.
In a regulatory filing on Friday, Samyang reported preliminary July-September revenue of 791.8 billion won, up 25.3 percent from a year earlier. Operating profit jumped 49.9 percent to 196.2 billion won, also a quarterly record.
The company credits robust Buldak sales in the US and China. That puts Samyang within reach of 3 trillion won ($2.2 billion) in annual revenue.
Buldak Bokkeum Myun, the chicken-flavored spicy ramen, launched in 2012. It went viral worldwide, and in 2024 Denmark recalled three Buldak products over capsaicin levels, even as global sales kept climbing.
A dish once known for making Koreans sweat is now a major export earner.
