He may have left the team, but his feelings for it clearly haven't changed. Japanese pitcher Yura Miyaji, who played for the Samsung Lions this season, turned up at the Korean Series to cheer on his former teammates.

On 6 November, Samsung faced the KT Wiz in Game 3 of the Korean Series (the final of South Korea's pro baseball league, the KBO) at Daegu Samsung Lions Park. Among the visitors was Miyaji, who had been released by the club.

Miyaji joined Samsung as an Asia quota player. That is a new KBO slot, introduced for the 2026 season, that lets each club sign a player from Japan, Taiwan and other Asian leagues.

He came to the ballpark to support the players he shared a season with. According to the report, he also said he would like to play in Korea again.

For now, the Korean Series goes on. Samsung have one more familiar face cheering them on from the stands.
